Sherwood Forest Hospitals Trust Pharmacy Department is excited to announce an opportunity for a self‑motivated individual to join our first‑year Pre‑Registration Pharmacy Technician cohort. This unique training program offers hands‑on experience in various areas, including Dispensary and ward‑based services across all four divisions: Admissions, General Medicine, Healthcare of the Older Person, and Surgery, at Kings Mill Hospital.

Person Specification
Knowledge Requirements
  • Understanding of the role of a Pharmacy Technician
  • Knowledge of pharmacy services
Qualifications – Academic / Craft / Professional
  • 5 GCSEs or equivalent including Grade C/4 or above in Maths, English Language and 2 Science subjects or double science. (Certificates are required). For 'O' Levels you must have Chemistry or Biology
  • Must be able to meet the entry requirements for the Advanced Apprenticeship Standard including an acceptable reference for good character and an acceptable self‑declaration for health.
  • Ability to be able to register with the GPhC as a registered Pharmacy Technician on achievement of mandatory qualification.
  • NVQ level 2 in Pharmacy Services
  • Experience of other NVQ/QCF qualifications
  • A levels
Further Training
  • Able to undertake distance learning to achieve Pharmacy Technician (Integrated) qualification.
Experience
  • Clear communication skills both written and verbal
  • Familiar with using a computer
  • Able to produce reports and assignments using a computer
  • Demonstrate that they have worked in a team effectively
  • Ability to work accurately and sustain concentration
  • Demonstrate ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team and manage own time well to meet deadlines
