A healthcare trust in the UK is looking for a Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician to undertake a 27-month fixed-term apprenticeship. This role involves gaining hands-on experience under supervision, completing a Level 3 diploma, and participating in various pharmacy duties including working on real-life patient care. Applicants should have a minimum of 4 GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above. Excellent support for career development is provided.
Are you interested in earning a wage whilst training to achieve a nationally recognised qualification to become a Pharmacy Technician? Would you like the chance to become a Pre‑registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician (PTPT) in the pharmacy department at St Marys Community Health Campus in Portsmouth? This is a 27‑month fixed‑term rotational training post which, after completing the apprenticeship, will enable the postholder to register as a pharmacy technician with the GPhC.
The postholder will perform general pharmaceutical duties under the control and supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician and undertake virtual guided learning provided by the training provider as well as workplace training. The postholder will train and develop the skills to become an Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) and demonstrate commitment to undertake Level 3 apprenticeship within an agreed timetable. A pre‑registration pharmacy technician works at all times under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist. A rotational scheme is in operation covering the main dispensary, clozapine dispensary, distribution, clinical trials and medicines management both on site and at other Trust locations. Four days each week will be spent gaining vocational experience and completing competencies required to complete the Level 3 diploma. One day per week will be spent studying the knowledge required to underpin the diploma. Your training will involve working with an educational supervisor to develop a work‑based portfolio, undertake work‑based assessments and complete all assignments and projects.
