Pre-Proposal Designer Commercial Solar PV

Location : Birchwood - Warrington

We are seeking a detail-driven, creatively minded Pre-Proposal Designer to support our growing Commercial Solar PV team. In this pivotal role, you will produce high-quality proposal documents, concept designs, and visual layouts that clearly communicate the value of our solar solutions to prospective clients.

Working at the intersection of technical design and commercial strategy, you will transform site data, performance insights, and client requirements into compelling proposal packages. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys creative technical work, thrives on variety, and can think critically about the best solutions to meet client needs.

Key Responsibilities
Solar PV Design
  • Create bespoke Solar PV system designs tailored to individual client requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with the lead generation team to ensure accurate and timely designs.
  • Use specialist software to estimate system performance and energy outputs.
  • Interpret site information, technical constraints, and client criteria to shape optimal designs.
  • Maintain awareness of market solutions (e.g., carports, ground-mount systems, battery storage) to recommend the best fit for clients.
Proposal Creation & Costing
  • Produce complete, accurate, and visually engaging commercial Solar PV proposal documents.
  • Ensure all proposals meet brand, quality, and compliance standards.
  • Work in partnership with the Business Development Manager to ensure client needs are clearly reflected in all deliverables.
Administrative Support
  • Update CRM records and stages throughout the proposal process.
  • Interpret lead generation KPIs and offer informed recommendations based on analysis.
  • Maintain accurate reporting to track progress and performance.
Key Measures of Success (KPIs)
Accurate Proposal Creation
  • Proposals delivered with correct pricing, accurate system sizing, and no errors.
  • Clear, actionable recommendations for alternative solutions where appropriate.
  • Designs aligned with client energy profiles and building requirements.
Timely Delivery
  • Proposals and presentations delivered within a 12-week turnaround following initial enquiry.
