Job description
About the company

This is a forward-thinking fit-out and workplace interiors specialist with a strong reputation for creating inspirational and highly functional office environments. With decades of combined expertise, the business prides itself on transparency, trust, and delivering an exceptional project experience for clients across the commercial sector. Sustainability sits at the heart of their approach, with a focus on responsibly sourced materials, reducing carbon impact through UK-based supply chains, and driving waste away from landfill. As an owner-led business, they operate with a collaborative and hands-on approach, ensuring every project benefits from both technical excellence and a personal touch.

About the role

As Pre-Construction Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the success of projects before a single spade hits the ground. You will take responsibility for all aspects of the pre-construction process, from feasibility and cost planning through to procurement strategy and risk management. A key part of your role will be coordinating closely with clients, design teams, and contractors to ensure solutions are buildable, financially sound, and aligned with programme and sustainability requirements. You will oversee the production of tenders, provide accurate estimates, and offer value-engineering options that maintain quality while safeguarding budgets. This role requires someone who thrives on building strong relationships and ensuring a seamless transition from pre-construction into delivery, setting the project teams up for success.

Rewards and benefits

In return, you will be joining a growing business that offers a competitive salary, performance-related bonus, and the chance to develop your career in an environment that values ambition and expertise. The structure is supportive yet agile, with senior management remaining closely involved in projects, meaning your voice and contribution will be recognised. You can expect exposure to high-profile commercial fit-out schemes, a working culture that rewards innovation, and the opportunity to be part of a company that is genuinely committed to sustainability and quality in every detail.

Requirements
  • To be successful in this role, you will need proven experience within pre-construction, ideally gained in commercial fit-out or workplace interiors.
  • You will bring a strong technical understanding of design, buildability, and construction methods, combined with the financial acumen to deliver accurate estimates and lead tendering processes.
  • Your ability to communicate and influence will be essential, as you'll be engaging with clients, suppliers, and consultants on a daily basis.
  • The role suits someone who is highly organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a natural ability to foresee and resolve challenges before they impact programme or cost.
  • A degree in construction management, quantity surveying or a related discipline is desirable, although equivalent industry experience will be considered
