Key Responsibilities

• Work alongside colleagues to provide a high‑quality childcare service by creating a safe and stimulating environment for children to play, learn and develop.
• Assist in the delivery of an effective EYFS curriculum that supports the children’s interests and developmental stage.
• Support the daily nursery routine, including indoors and outdoors learning areas and local community activities.
• Engage children in creative and sensory play.
• Act as a ‘Key Worker’ for a small group of children, supporting and developing their care and educational needs.
• Provide caring support and maintain good communication with parents/carers and children, respecting and appreciating diversity.

Early Years Educator – Job Details

Full‑time (37.5 hrs over a 9‑day fortnight, Monday to Friday). Playroom for 2‑3‑year‑olds at the Princess Royal Hospital, Haywards Heath.

Applicants must hold a full and relevant Level 2/3 Diploma in Early Years and have experience in an EYFS setting. Experience with SEND children is desirable. The post requires support of a ‘Key Group’ and involvement in planning, carrying out observations and individual assessments. Flexibility, adaptability and initiative are essential, as is spending time in the outdoor environment.
