A local government authority in Wales is seeking a motivated Social Worker to join their team in Gelligaer. The role involves supporting team members, managing complex caseloads, and working on assessments for children and families in need of social services. We pay an attractive salary of £42,839 – £46,142 with an additional £3,551 annual market supplement, and offer access to training and development opportunities. We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, experienced and enthusiastic practitioner to become part of our progressive and creative team. The successful candidate will hold a more complex caseload, be able to offer support, mentoring and supervision to team members, monitor team performance, assist the Team Manager, and deputise when required. The Team undertakes high quality assessments and planning for children and their families who require ongoing social services intervention. The team covers both short and long‑term work, including Children in Need of Care and Support, Safeguarding, Children Looked After and court work.

The current registration requirements state that completion of the Consolidation of Practice qualification within your first 3 years of practice is mandatory (if you qualified after 1st April 2016). Failure to successfully complete this qualification will result in you being unable to renew your Social Work Registration or practice as a Social Worker.
