Job summary

The Practice Tutor role at Anna Freud offers part-time hours in a hybrid London setting, supporting Educational Mental Health Practitioner trainees to deliver inclusive mental health interventions in educational settings. You will facilitate tutor groups, deliver teaching, monitor progress and provide supervision, helping trainees apply learning to real cases with a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• A recognised qualification in a core mental health profession, or a relevant qualification in working with children supported by additional child mental health training or experience.
• Knowledge and experience of delivering CBT or CBT-informed assessments and interventions with children, young people and families in CAMHS or educational settings.
• Experience of facilitating inclusive small-group learning, teaching adults or delivering professional training.
• Experience of providing supervision, reflective practice or support to mental health professionals, colleagues or university students.
• Strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines and maintain accurate records.

What you'll do

As Practice Tutor, you will support Educational Mental Health Practitioner trainees to develop the practical skills, knowledge and confidence needed to deliver effective, inclusive mental health interventions for children, young people and families in educational settings.

What you'll bring

The ideal candidate will be an experienced child mental health or education professional who can confidently support, teach and assess postgraduate trainees while creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment

• A recognised qualification in a core mental health profession, or a relevant qualification in working with children supported by additional child mental health training or experience


• Knowledge and experience of delivering CBT or CBT-informed assessments and interventions with children, young people and families in CAMHS or educational settings


• Experience of facilitating inclusive small-group learning, teaching adults or delivering professional training

Hours:

Part-time: 7 hours per week. Candidates will need to be available to work on Wednesdays from 09:00 to 17:00, with occasional flexibility to work at other times as required.

Salary:

£45,427 FTE per annum, plus 6% contributory pension scheme

Location:

Hybrid (a mixture of home/onsite working), the delivery of teaching and Practice Tutor Groups facilitation by the postholder is almost all face-to-face. For face-to-face work, the post-holders will be required to attend in person at our London office (4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH).

Contract type:

Fixed-term, 12 months
