A healthcare provider in the UK is seeking an enthusiastic pharmacy technician to join their team. You will support the clinical pharmacist and contribute to delivering safe and effective medication management services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pharmacy services, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team. We arelooking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic pharmacy technician to join ourestablished team, to work alongside and provide complementary skills to ourexisting clinical teams, whilst building strong effective working relationshipsto improve care and services to our patients.
To support the Practice Based Clinical Pharmacist toensure the delivery of safe, effective and efficient systems for repeat prescribing, medicinesoptimisation, reducing medicines waste and maximising patient outcomes.

To undertake medicines reconciliation in accordancewith practice protocols and to update patients medical records / prescribingaccordingly.
To support the achievement of the practicesprescribing Quality and Outcomes Framework targets, local prescribing and practiceengagement schemes and medication aspects of Local Enhanced Services.
Working with the Pharmacy Team to contribute to thereview and development of repeat prescribing protocols / StandardOperating Procedures to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of repeatprescribing systems.
To provide advice to GPs, staff and patients in changesto prescribing to support the improvement of prescribing safety, quality and costeffectiveness.
To participate in medication audits.
To assist in the appropriate monitoring and managementof prescribing the budgets and to liaise with the medicines management team at theICB.
To prepare evidence based resources and information tosupport the implementation of rational cost-effective prescribing.
To support the Practice Based Clinical Pharmacist toprovide medication reviews, patient information leaflets, medicine awareness; and toundertake community visits as appropriate.
To take a proactive approach to the safe handling ofprescriptions, including assessment of risk and making recommendations forimprovement.
To respond to medication queries from patients andstaff in a professional manner referring to the appropriate GP in accordance withpractice protocols.
To advise on the sourcing and safe management ofmedicines as appropriate.
To assist in the submission of claims for personallyadministered drugs as required.
To assist in the appropriate monitoring of highrisk medication, including quality assurance audits, and quality improvementprogrammes where needed.
Support the practice in reviewing andimplementing MHRA/CAS safety alerts.
Responsibility for administration
Other duties and responsibilities to be undertaken mayinclude any or all the items in the following list:
Taking messages and passing on information asappropriate.
Computer data entry/data allocation and collation,processing and recording information in accordance with practice procedures.
Initiating contact with and responding to requests frompatients, other team members and associated healthcare professionals and providers.
Helping to keep all practice areas tidy and free fromobstructions and.
Helping to maintain a positive, patient focusedculture.
Helping to maintain a positive, supportive cultureacross the whole of the practice team.
Any other duties commensurate with this position.
Duties will vary from time to time under the direction ofthe Partners / Practice Manager dependent on current and evolving practice workload andstaffing levels.
To provide medication review services to patients viaclinics in the practice, domiciliary visits and in residential and nursing homes, and todeliver pharmaceutical care plans that maximise cost-effective prescribing and improve thequality of patient care.
To present at patient group meetings or otherappropriate events to give advice on the appropriate use of medicines.
To produce patient information leaflets and posters andrun medicine awareness projects throughout the year.
Assist Partners with the appropriate monitoring andmanagement of their prescribing budgets.
To prepare evidence based resources and information tosupport the medicine management team and all other relevant healthprofessionals in the implementation of rational cost-effective prescribing.
To help plan, develop and support the introduction ofnew working processes within the practice to optimise the quality of prescribing.
