Job summary

Friar Gate Surgery is seeking an experienced Practice Nurse with a recognised Mentor Qualification to join our small, supportive nursing team in Derby. The post involves a range of clinical duties and mentorship of a Nurse Associate, in a well-regarded GP practice close to the town centre with parking available.

The role covers cervical screening, immunisations, chronic disease management, and other practice nursing duties with emphasis on high-quality patient care and collaborative team

Qualifications

• Mentor qualification and NMC registration.
• Experience as a Practice Nurse in a GP Practice.
• Experience in primary care and nurse leadership would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Patient care including wound care, cervical screening, immunisations, chronic disease management (diabetes, hypertension, COPD).
• Follow practice protocols, manage equipment, stock and vaccine orders, and support nurse team and administration.
• Promote patient safety, data confidentiality and infection control; participate in training and audits.
