Job description

We are looking for a Practice Nurse or Nurse Associate (trained in General Practice) to join our small, friendly nursing team.

Working Monday to Friday, delivering care within their scope of practice to our practice population. Our Practice Nursing team deliver and assist in the provisions of treatment, preventative care, health promotion and patient education.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role include Long Term Condition Management, Cytology, Childhood/Routine Immunisations, Contraception and Injectables.

Hawthorn Medical Practice is a busy seven partner practice providing care to over seventeen thousand patients in Skegness town and surrounding area.

We are a small team but very busy one, no two days are the same. We promote a family atmosphere, working together as a team to provide excellent patient care.

Job responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities include -

  • Delivering care for Long Term Conditions in line with current protocols and QoF requirements in areas such as Diabetes, Respiratory and Chronic Heart Disease
  • Hypertension or Cholesterol Management
  • Cytology
  • Routine/Childhood Immunisations
  • Contraception
  • ECG's
  • Travel Clinics
  • 24hr ECG/BP Monitoring

Secondary Responsibilities include -

  • Assisting with Infection Control
  • Ensuring adequate stock levels of clinical consumables are maintained
  • Attending monthly Nursing Team Meetings
Person Specification
Experience
  • Experience of working in Primary Care
  • Experience in all areas of Practice Nursing, however training will be provided where necessary.
Qualifications
  • Relevant qualification and Registration with RGN
