Job summary

Locums First is seeking Locum Practice Nurses in Braunton. This role offers flexible, sessional work across community health settings and GP surgeries, ideal for nurses seeking a balanced mix of treatment room duties, clinical reviews and preventative health activity.

You will contribute to primary care by supporting routine clinics, delivering procedural care and assisting with core nursing responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (NMC) with primary care or community experience.
• Immunisation experience is advantageous.
• Cytology experience advantageous.
• Confident in routine treatment room work.
• Able to adapt quickly to new clinical environments.

Responsibilities

• Running treatment room clinics including wound care and general nursing procedures.
• Supporting chronic disease and long-term condition reviews.
• Administering adult and childhood immunisations (if trained).
• Performing smear tests where qualified.
• Conducting NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments.
• Maintaining accurate documentation across clinical systems.
• Providing general clinical support to GPs and Nurses.

Locums First is looking for Locum Practice Nurses in Braunton. This role provides varied and flexible sessional work across community health settings and GP surgeries, making it ideal for nurses seeking a balanced mix of treatment room duties, clinical reviews and preventative health activity.

You will contribute to a range of primary care services by supporting routine clinics, delivering procedural care and assisting with core nursing responsibilities. Each service provides structured clinical processes and clear expectations to ensure safe and consistent practice.

Key Responsibilities

• Running treatment room clinics including wound care and general nursing procedures
• Supporting chronic disease and long-term condition reviews
• Administering adult and childhood immunisations (if trained)
• Performing smear tests where qualified
• Conducting NHS Health Checks and lifestyle assessments
• Maintaining accurate documentation across different clinical systems
• Providing general clinical support to GPs and Nurses

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (NMC) with primary care or community experience
• Immunisation and cytology experience advantageous
• Confident in routine treatment room work
• Able to adapt quickly to new clinical environments
• Good communication and patient interaction skills
