Practice Nurse – Primary Care
Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Practice Nurse to join a supportive and growing primary care team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, efficient nursing care to patients across a broad range of clinical needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage chronic conditions including hypertension, diabetes, asthma, COPD, and thyroid disorders.
- Run immunisation and treatment clinics, including wound care, suture removal, ECGs, and blood pressure monitoring.
- Provide cytology services and family planning advice.
- Maintain clinical areas and equipment, including instrument sterilisation and stock management.
- Keep accurate patient records, both written and electronic.
- Conduct diagnostic procedures according to established protocols.
- Participate in call and recall systems, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Support and mentor Health Care Assistants, student nurses, and other staff as appropriate.
Role Requirements
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to manage workload independently and seek guidance when needed.
- Deliver patient care in line with local and national clinical guidelines.
- Maintain professional registration with the NMC and adhere to the Code of Conduct.
- Observe strict confidentiality and operate within professional competence.
Person Specification
Essential Experience:
- Working within a nursing team.
- Caring for vulnerable patients.
- Experience managing chronic disease and cytology patients.
- Experience in GP or primary care settings.
Other Requirements:
- Enhanced DBS check.
- Current UK professional registration (NMC).
