Practice Nurse – Primary Care

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Practice Nurse to join a supportive and growing primary care team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality, efficient nursing care to patients across a broad range of clinical needs.

The role offers a competitive salary (dependent on experience), pension scheme, and excellent training and development opportunities within a collaborative and professional team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage chronic conditions including hypertension, diabetes, asthma, COPD, and thyroid disorders.
  • Run immunisation and treatment clinics, including wound care, suture removal, ECGs, and blood pressure monitoring.
  • Provide cytology services and family planning advice.
  • Maintain clinical areas and equipment, including instrument sterilisation and stock management.
  • Keep accurate patient records, both written and electronic.
  • Conduct diagnostic procedures according to established protocols.
  • Participate in call and recall systems, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Support and mentor Health Care Assistants, student nurses, and other staff as appropriate.
Role Requirements
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to manage workload independently and seek guidance when needed.
  • Deliver patient care in line with local and national clinical guidelines.
