Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage chronic disease and support patients with long-term conditions.
• Administer childhood and adult immunisations and injections.
• Perform cervical screening and cytology.
• Provide wound care and routine nursing treatments.
• Promote health and deliver health education advice.
• Undertake clinical assessments and maintain patient records.
• Assist GPs and multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-centred care.
• Support quality improvement and participate in audits (QOF).
• Contribute to clinics and follow-up appointments as needed.
• Work under pressure in a fast-paced primary care setting.

Kirkham Health Centre, a GP surgery serving around 9,800 patients across mixed urban and rural areas, is recruiting a Practice Nurse. The work centres on managing long-term conditions, cervical screening, immunisations, wound care and routine nursing treatments, alongside GPs and the wider primary care team. The post sits within a practice that also employs several GPs, advanced nurse practitioners and a nursing associate. Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council is required, and experience of a fast-paced healthcare setting is expected.
