A healthcare practice in Milton Keynes is looking for an experienced Practice Nurse to join their team. This role can be part-time or full-time, focusing on delivering high-quality patient care across various clinical areas. Responsibilities include managing chronic diseases, providing immunisations, and ensuring effective communication within the team. The practice offers a supportive environment, opportunities for development, and a commitment to excellent patient care.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly and supportive team at Purbeck Health Centre in Milton Keynes. This role can be part‑time or full‑time, between 24 and 37.5 hours per week.
You will be an important part of our nursing team, providing safe and effective care across a wide range of clinical areas. You must be an active smear taker and confident in delivering child immunisations. Experience in chronic disease management and general treatment room work is also required.
We are a well‑organised, forward‑thinking practice that values teamwork, communication, and professional development. You will be joining a team that supports one another, works hard, and takes pride in delivering excellent patient care.
We offer a supportive working environment, opportunities for ongoing learning and development, NHS pension, generous annual leave, and flexible working options.
If you are a skilled and proactive nurse who enjoys working as part of a team and wants to make a real difference in patient care, we would be very pleased to hear from you.
The Practice Nurse will provide safe, effective, and high‑quality nursing care to our patient population.
You will work closely with the wider clinical team, supporting long‑term condition management and day‑to‑day treatment room services.
You will manage your own clinics, ensuring patients receive appropriate assessment, care, and follow‑up. This includes chronic disease management for asthma, COPD, hypertension, and diabetes (Part 1 and 2), as well as frailty and learning disability reviews.
You will provide women’s health services including cervical screening, contraception reviews, and HRT management. You must be a trained smear taker and able to deliver a full range of vaccinations and immunisations, including child immunisations, child flu, flu, pneumonia, shingles, and whooping cough.
Treatment room responsibilities include dressings, leg ulcer care, doppler, ECGs, ear syringing, nebulising, stitch and staple removal, B12 injections, and INR testing. You will also support health promotion, NHS health checks, smoking cessation, and sexual health testing.
The role requires sound clinical judgment, accuracy, and a patient‑centred approach. You will maintain clear records, use SystmOne, and follow practice policies to ensure safe care.
You will also take part in meetings, audits, and training to support improvement. This is a busy but rewarding role within a supportive and well‑organised practice where teamwork is valued.
