Practice Nurse

Southgates Medical Centre & The Woottons Surgery are based in King’s Lynn and have a long proud history of excellent patient care.

We are looking for an experienced Practice Nurse to join our friendly and professional team in serving our patients.

Closing date: 19 November 2025

Working hours: 08:00 to 18:00; permanent contract of around 25 hours per week. You may be required to work across both Southgates and The Woottons surgeries.

Main duties of the job
  • Registered nurse with immunisation experience; diabetes experience welcomed.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills; self‑motivated, organised and able to prioritise workload.
Job responsibilities
  • Clinical care – assess, screen, treat and educate patients in line with practice protocols; administer childhood/adult vaccinations according to national standards.
  • Practice support – arrange health education, ensure treatment rooms and equipment are stocked and maintained.
  • Pathology specimen collection – collect samples, store and send to laboratory following COSH regulations.
  • Infection control – champion infection control, participate in audits and comply with standards.
  • Professional responsibilities – record consultations in SystmOne, complete required documentation, attend meetings, assist senior practice nurse, support governance and quality improvement.
  • Education & training – participate in staff education, keep up with clinical developments, contribute to annual appraisal and CPD.
  • Additional duties as required by the practice.
Special requirements
  • Membership of professional nursing body.
  • Compliance with NMC code of conduct.
  • Ability to self‑motivate, organise and prioritise workload.
  • Excellent communication skills with multidisciplinary team.
Qualifications
