Wimbledon Medical Practice in London is seeking a motivated part-time Practice Nurse to join a 22-strong team in a purpose-built facility serving around 11,000 patients. The role requires practice nursing experience and strong communication skills, with EMIS Web experience and opportunities for professional development.

The practice operates in a supportive environment with duties including independent work in the absence of a GP, patient screening, and maintaining the treatment room.

Competenze

• Experience in practice nursing is essential.

We are looking for a motivated and productive nurse to be part of our practice team and provide a high standard of care for our patients. Experience in practice nursing required, good communication and interpersonal skills is essential. EMIS web system. Professional training and development encouraged.

About us

We are a team with 22 staff based in Wimbledon, we are also part of the North West PCN group. We are looking for a part-time nurse to join our team.

Job responsibilities

• To provide nursing services to patients of the practice including treatment, screening and advice within the professional competence of the postholder.
• To work independently in the surgery in the absence of a GP, possessing the initiative and confidence necessary to do so.
• To have charge of the treatment room, maintain an adequate level of supplies and be responsible for cleaning and sterilisation of instruments.
• Because of the socio/economic environment in which the practice operates, to be sympathetic to the various ethnic groups that make up the patient list and possess the appropriately well developed communication skills.
• Assisting doctors as required.

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Factors Essential
• Physical:Ability to carry out the duties of the post without adaptation.
• Education and Qualifications: RGN.
• Experience: 2 years post registration experience.
• Diabetes management, Childhood Immunisations, Asthma management,Travel immunisations is desirable.
• Experience of EMIS system.
• Knowledge: Knowledge of UKCC Professional Code/Standards
• Knowledge of clinical governance.
• Risk assessment: Evidence of recent updating in relevant primary care setting.
• Skills/Aptitudes: Ability to communicate verbally.
• Ability to undertake clinical audit.
• Ability to conduct computer searches.
