Howard House Surgery, part of Suffolk Primary Care in Felixstowe, seeks an experienced practice nurse for 37.5 hours a week. The role involves cervical smears, immunisations and chronic disease management, with both phone and in-person patient contact.

Flexibility includes extended hours on Monday/Tuesday until 8pm and negotiation on days. The ideal candidate will have diabetes, asthma and COPD experience and a willingness to pursue further training.

Qualifications

• It is essential to be NMC registered and able to work in line with the NMC code of conduct.
• Experience in managing patients with diabetes, asthma and COPD is preferred.
• Excellent English communication, both written and spoken, and strong telephone manners.
• Ability to work calmly as part of a team and follow protocols precisely.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general nursing duties including immunisations and cervical smears.

About the Role

Howard House Surgery is part of Suffolk Primary Care, which is a group of GP practices delivering patient care across Suffolk. We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and experienced practice nurse, with excellent interpersonal skills, to join our fantastic team at Howard House Surgery, in Felixstowe.

The vacancy is for 37.5 hours a week over 4 or 5 days; however, this may be negotiable for the right candidate. Flexibility is crucial to accommodate training, holidays and occasional sickness. You will need to work some extended hours on Monday/Tuesday, until 8pm.

The role will include both telephone and face-to-face contact with patients, carrying out general nursing duties including, but not limited to:

• cervical smears,
• immunisations,
• chronic disease management

The successful candidate will work in accordance with NMC code of conduct.

About the Candidate

The ideal candidate will be experienced in managing patients with diabetes, asthma and COPD however; a willingness to carry out further training is a must.

You should be able to work calmly and professionally as part of a team, with the ability to multi-task. A strong command of written and spoken English with an excellent telephone manner is a must. Good time management skills and the ability to follow protocols and/or instruction and attention to detail is essential.
