Job Summary

Are you an enthusiastic and compassionate Practice Nurse looking to make a difference in primary care?

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced nurse to join our dynamic and patient‑focused team at Bramblehaies Surgery, working two to three days a week, hours negotiable. We also provide a service one Saturday each month.

Main Duties of the Job

As our Practice Nurse you'll play a key role in delivering high quality nursing care and health promotion to our diverse patient population. You'll work alongside a multidisciplinary team to support chronic disease management, immunisations, cervical screening, wound care, health promotion and more.

About Us

Bramblehaies Surgery, in Cullompton, is a semi‑rural training practice in the heart of Devon serving a population of 7668 patients, providing high standards of care (CQC rating of Good) from a modern, purpose‑built building.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, develop, implement and evaluation treatment programmes that promote health and well‑being, and also patients with a known long‑term condition
• Work with other health care professionals to monitor, manage and treat long‑term conditions, including non‑drug‑based treatment methods using a management plan, and in line with national and local policies and practice needs
• Review medication for therapeutic effectiveness, appropriate to patient needs and in accordance with evidence‑based practice and national and practice protocols with support from NMP or GP
• Work with patients in order to support adherence to prescribed treatments
• Support and manage health needs of women presenting for cervical cytology consultations
• Implement and participate in vaccination and immunisation programmes for both adults and children
• Advise, support and administer vaccinations where appropriate for patients travelling abroad
• Provide wound care support when necessary

Essential Experience

• Working independently as well as in a team environment
• Experience of infection prevention and control measures

Desirable Experience

• Experience of chronic disease management
• Experience of working as a nurse in an acute, community or practice environment

Essential Qualifications

• Formal Nursing Qualification
• Registration with NMC

Desirable Qualifications

• Post graduate diploma or degree in a long term condition
