A medical practice in Wimbledon Chase is looking for a Practice Nurse to work 30 hours per week. The role involves providing a range of nursing services to patients, managing chronic diseases, and supporting a multidisciplinary team. The Nelson Medical Practice is a dynamic, forward thinking and friendly practice and we have an exciting opportunity for a Practice Nurse to join our team for 30 hours per week working over 2.5 days, Monday and Friday working all day and Thursday working a half day afternoon only. We operate from a large modern purpose built building based in Wimbledon Chase with onsite imagining and phlebotomy. We have an experienced and stable clinical workforce with a keen focus on delivering high quality patient care. You would work as part of a multidisciplinary team, and you will support and care for a diverse patient group. As a large practice on a single site we have a strong emphasis on our team, for example we have a team of experienced Nurses, a Nurse mentor and a Nursing Team Manager, so you are always well supported. The Practice offers dedicate in house clinics for diabetes,minor surgery,family planning,postnatal and baby checks and baby imms, as well as offering a wide range of care from smears to wound care, immunisations, Chronic Disease and travel immunsations.

Purpose of the role is to provide a full range of nursing services to the patients of the Practice, managing Chronic Disease, NHS Health checks, health screening, immunisation and vaccination programmes, wound care and complex dressings. Care is provided in a face to face setting.
Clinics will be delivered in line with qualifications and competencies e.g diabetes, hypertension, asthma, contraception. Carrying out screening in relation to lipids, blood pressure and cervical smears. Ensuring that clinical rooms are kept in a clean and orderly manner. Inputting information into the Practice clinical system, and using the clinical system to carry out searches for call and recall of patients as required. Ensure that the drug refrigerators are kept at the correct temperatures on a daily basis and documenting the temperatures.
You will act at all times with regards to confidentiality and sensitivity of patients and their care. Ensure infection control procedures are followed in accordance with guidelines.
