About Us
Downton Road Surgery was forged in January 2024 following the merger of the Crest and Merrywood practices within the William Budd Health Centre in Knowle West. We serve a population of 14,500 patients in a deprived but supportive suburban area.
Our team is made up of 14 GPs, 2 ANPs, a First Contact Physio, a mental health worker and 3 clinical pharmacists, alongside nurses and HCAs in our treatment room. A highly trained administrative support team keeps workload low and efficient for clinical staff.
We place a high value on education, with three educational supervisors working in the practice. We proudly train medical students, GPST trainees and F2 doctors.
Our focus on high‑quality patient care is reflected in excellent patient survey feedback and very low staff turnover. We are proud to be a happy and stimulating place to work.
