Job summary

A healthcare recruitment agency is seeking a Practice Manager for the Specialist Adolescent Service in Stevenage. Candidates should have at least 3 years of supervision experience, a DipSW/CQSW equivalent, and a passion for leading an intensive intervention team. Responsibilities include line management of social workers and delivering high-quality supervision. This role is hybrid with an emphasis on safeguarding vulnerable young people. A DBS check will be obtained for the successful candidate.

Practice Manager ?Specialist Adolescent Service Hertfordshire (SASH)

Salary: £43/ Hour
Job type: Day to Day Cover
Location: Stevenage

We are looking for a Practice Manager to join East SASH, an intensive intervention team based within the Specialist Adolescent Service Hertfordshire (SASH). We are looking for an experienced practitioner who has experience of supervising staff and can demonstrate initiative and ambition to lead and shape the Central SASH service and work very closely with the Team Manager.

Responsibilities include:

  • Line management responsibility for social workers & alternatively qualified staff.
  • Provide high quality supervision for staff.
  • Chair meetings, such as strategy meetings.
  • Provide duty management support to the team manager.
  • Deputise for the team manager as needed.
  • Based - Farnham House, Stevenage, 3/2 hybrid split

Experience include:

  • Extensive line management / experience of supervising staff.
  • Experience of familial and extra-familial safeguarding.
  • Working with CIN, CP, CLA
  • Experience of supporting staff to manage complex case loads of children.
  • To support children and young people in achieving positive outcomes through delivering interventions to young people with the following presenting issues:
  • Child Sexual and Child Criminal Exploitation
  • Homelessness
  • Family Breakdown - preventing children becoming Looked After
  • Young People Missing from Home
  • Young People at risk of radicalisation
  • Children becoming Looked After
  • Rehabilitating Young People home after a period of being Looked After
  • Young People in the Criminal Justice System and at risk of entering the system
  • To manage a team of staff, providing performance management and supervision to achieve targets and deliver an effective service.

The team:

  • Well-structured organised team, growing their staffing levels

Minimum requirements:

  • 3 year post qualified experience in a similar role within the UK
  • Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • DipSW/CQSW equivalent
  • Post qualifying supervision of SW's or students
