Insite Public Practice Recruitment Limited is recruiting for a Practice / Client Manager in Manchester. This permanent, full‑time role focuses on statutory accounts, tax work and helping steer the firm's growth.

You will own a varied portfolio, engage with clients, and work with leadership on strategic direction. There is potential to invest in the firm and eventually take ownership within around two years for the entrepreneurial candidate.

Qualifications

The Opportunity

This is a genuinely unusual opportunity to join a well-established boutique accountancy practice with a loyal, long-standing client base and play a key role in its next phase of growth.

As Practice / Client Manager, you'll take ownership of a varied portfolio, overseeing statutory accounts and a broad range of tax work while becoming increasingly involved in the operational and strategic direction of the business.

For the right person, this is much more than a management position. There is a clear pathway to invest in the firm and ultimately take ownership within around two years, making this an exciting opportunity for someone with genuine entrepreneurial ambition.

What You'll Be Doing

• Overseeing the preparation and review of statutory accounts for a well-established client portfolio.
• Managing corporate, personal and inheritance tax matters, ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are consistently met.
• Acting as a trusted point of contact for clients, providing practical accounting and tax guidance.
• Managing workflow across the practice, ensuring work is appropriately allocated, prioritised and delivered on time.
• Supporting and developing junior members of the team where required.
• Working closely with the current leadership team on business planning and the future strategic direction of the practice.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and the overall client experience.
• Gradually taking greater responsibility for the day-to-day running and commercial performance of the business.

What We're Looking For

You'll ideally be ACA or ACCA qualified, although strong practice experience and the right commercial mindset will also be considered.

More importantly, you'll be highly organised, confident managing multiple priorities and comfortable taking ownership rather than simply completing tasks.

You should have strong experience across statutory accounts and taxation, including corporate and personal tax. Exposure to inheritance tax would be particularly useful.

The successful candidate is likely to be commercially aware, client-focused and ambitious enough to see themselves eventually running a practice of their own.
