Job description

We are seeking an experienced and capable Practice Manager to provide operational leadership following the departure of our current postholder. The successful candidate will work closely with our Deputy Practice Manager and Operations Manager to ensure the smooth running of day-to-day services and the continued development of the practice.

  • Proven management experience - primary care or similar environment desirable
  • Strong organisational, leadership and communication skills
  • Confidence managing HR and operational issues
  • Understanding of NHS regulatory frameworks
  • Ability to prioritise, work independently and lead change constructively
  • A team-oriented approach, working effectively with colleagues at all levels

Kings Langley Surgery is a long-established, partner-led GP practice serving approximately 15,000 patients across two sites, with Longmeadow Surgery being our branch practice in Bovingdon. We pride ourselves on being a supportive, collaborative and dedicated team, and we are looking for someone who will work well within that culture.

Job responsibilities
  • Operational leadership across both sites
  • HR management, staffing oversight and recruitment
  • Induction, training records and appraisals
  • Supporting CQC compliance and governance - we have a CQC lead in post
  • Policy management, audits and regulatory documentation
  • NHS contract and regulatory requirements
  • Complaints and significant event coordination
  • Premises and IT systems oversight
  • Service improvement and workflow development
  • Line management of administrative teams
  • Representing the practice at locality and PCN operational meetings as required
