Practice Manager (Private Client Tax)

Due to extensive growth and multiple acquisitions, Fusion Consulting Group are looking to recruit an experienced Practice Manager to play an instrumental role in the running of our Private Client Tax function.

The group has several subsidiaries ranging from Tax, Accounting, Legal, Financial Services and Recruitment. Our mission is to disrupt the disjointed Professional Services space.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Practice Manager to support Fusion Tax with all of their back office operations, including the AML process, KYC and risk assessments.

Our business is geared towards providing Taxation services to a broad range of clients including expats, non-UK residents and to support High Net Worth clients, Entrepreneurs and Trusts through the life cycle of their business.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the AML process from start to finish within the tax department - including electronic ID verification, KYC and risk assessment
  • Contacting clients for information requests
  • Scanning and photocopying client information, ensuring the client is contacted to confirm safe receipt and information is saved in the client folder
  • Updating IRIS on receipt of client information
  • Contacting IRIS for support where needed
  • Reformatting / making amendments to documents
  • Answering inbound calls and transferring to the relevant member of staff (within tax and accounting only)
  • Acting as a secondary contact for absent team members
  • Ensuring effective communication between accounting and taxation departments
  • Minute taking in departmental meetings and task management
  • Opening and scanning post for filing in the relevant client
  • Ensuring post is sent daily
Tax Administration
  • Updating IRIS
  • Preparing and sending tax return information to be drafted by team
  • Ensure the tax return processing team is achieving a three day turn around and using IRIS to manage this
  • Filing tax returns to HM Revenue & Customs and emailing the client to confirm submission to HMRC
  • Submission receipt and email saved in the relevant client directory
  • Assisting with client take on procedures, contacting new clients and sending them relevant HMRC forms, where necessary. Ensuring new clients have been authorised with HMRC
  • Sending forms and letters to HMRC and ensuring all correspondence filed in the relevant client file
Candidate Requirements
  • At least three years tax administration experience within a UK practice
  • Previous experience managing AML procedures
  • Must be highly organised, proactive and a self‑starter
  • Able to prioritise workload and be self‑sufficient
  • Can work well under pressure and in a very busy environment
  • A team player, with active participation in the team, in addition to being able to work on their own as required
  • Friendly and helpful with a can‑do work ethic
  • Flexible and able to prioritise a changing to do list
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
