We are a friendly, well-established GP practice in SouthNorwood seeking an experienced and motivated Practice Manager to join our team.

Main duties of the job

This is a key leadership role with responsibility for the overallmanagement and day-to-day operations of the practice, ensuring services runsmoothly, safely, and in line with NHS and regulatory requirements. Workingclosely with the GPs and the clinical team will play a vital role inmaintaining high standards of care, supporting staff, and driving serviceimprovement.

You will be joining a close-knit, supportive practice serving a patient population of under 6,000, where teamwork, mutual respect and patient-centred care are at the heart of everything we do.

Our multidisciplinary team is made up of 4 GPs, 2 Practice Nurses, a Healthcare Assistant, and a wider clinical support network including a Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, Social Prescribing Link Worker and First Contact Physiotherapy Practitioner, all backed by a dedicated and experienced administrative team.

We foster a positive, collaborative working atmosphere with a strong work ethic and a shared commitment to delivering high-quality care while supporting one anothers development and wellbeing.

We are now seeking a forward-thinking and motivated Practice Manager to lead the practice, nurture our team culture and help drive the continued growth and success of the organisation.

Job responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for the day-to-day operational management of the practice
  • Leadership, line management, and development of the administrative and non-clinical team
  • Supporting GP Principal with strategic planning and service development
  • Ensuring compliance with CQC standards, NHS contractual requirements, and information governance
  • Managing policies, procedures, and clinical governance frameworks
  • Overseeing patient services, complaints, and feedback in line with NHS guidance
  • Managing workforce planning, recruitment, induction, appraisals, and training
  • Promoting staff wellbeing, engagement, and a positive team culture
  • Liaising with external stakeholders including the PCN, ICB, and other NHS organisations
  • Oversight of IT systems, estates, and health & safety
  • Supporting digital transformation and continuous improvement initiatives
Person Specification
Experience
  • Previous experience in GP practice management or a senior healthcare operational role
  • Strong leadership, people management, and communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Good understanding of NHS primary care operations and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to work independently and proactively within a small practice environment
  • Knowledge of EMIS Web and other NHS systems
  • Experience preparing for and supporting CQC inspections
  • Experience working within a Primary Care Network
