Job summary

A community support organization in Aston-on-Trent is seeking a Practice Leader to mentor Support Workers. Key Requirement

Full valid UK driving licence required.

  • Experience with key moving & handling, Health & Safety and medication champion preferred.

At Thera East Midlands we believe people with a learning disability should be leaders in society. We are looking for a Practice Leader to mentor Support Workers, focusing on person‑centred support and encouraging individuals to live the life they choose.

Responsibilities
  • Improve outcomes for individuals, ensuring choice and control in support delivery.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment, supporting personal care, finances, meals and community access.
  • Support emotional, psychological and social wellbeing in line with Positive Behaviour Support guidance.
  • Promote emotional and psychological well‑being and continuous improvement through feedback.
  • Record keeping and shift work must be flexible and comply with company policies.
  • Act as an ambassador for the company, empowering individuals, promoting inclusion, rights and independence.
Qualifications
  • Experience supporting people with learning disabilities.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding, health and safety and care regulations.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, organisational and decision‑making skills.
  • Confidence in using digital systems (e.g. Excel, care‑planning software).
  • Flexible working hours, willingness to travel locally and work across multiple locations.
