In collaboration with the Practice Development Nurse, coordinate, plan and deliver the critical care foundation programme and other education programmes. The post holder will facilitate the development of clinical staff in the assessment of the care needs for all patients, ensuring that planned care is appropriately implemented and evaluated. The post holder will be able to act as an effective clinical leader and role model to enhance the clinical competence and improve the fundamentals of care within Cardiothoracic Critical Care.
In conjunction with the education team, develop, deliver and evaluate educational programmes for new and existing nursing staff and nursing assistants within Cardiothoracic Critical Care. The post holder will be integral in the promotion of an environment that encourages learning and sustains the personal and professional development of staff. In collaboration with the PDN coordinate the supervision, assessment and development of clinical skills of the nursing team.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
