Role Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced nurse to join our dynamic Emergency Department team as a Practice Development Facilitator and Band 7 Nurse in charge. This dual role includes 22.5 hrs/week Band 7 Nurse in Charge and 15 hrs/week Practice Development Facilitatorp>
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with team members to support the training, development, and competency progression of ED staff across all levels.
- Provide expert guidance based on experience caring for critically ill or emergency patients.
- Play an integral role in the educational development team, supporting staff in delivering high‑quality patient care and promoting continuous professional development.
- Identify training needs of ED staff and provide tailored support to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Assist in the development and implementation of competency frameworks for Band 5, Band 6, and Band 7 nurses as well as EMTs and clinical support workers.
- Offer ongoing support to staff completing competency frameworks, identifying additional support where necessary.
- Facilitate the transition and professional development of newly recruited Band 5 nurses, helping them integrate into the ED environment effectively.
- Collaborate closely with specialist nurses, HR, and other departments to drive staff development and align training initiatives with best practices and organisational needs.
Training & Development Focus
- Lead development of competency frameworks and support staff in maintaining required competencies.
- Provide mentorship and support for staff through competency completion and additional support as needed.
- Collaborate with HR and specialty units to align staff development with organisational goals.
