Job summary

EPS Group Services in Hitchin is seeking an experienced Practice/Client Bookkeeper for a permanent, full-time role. You will manage day-to-day bookkeeping across a varied client portfolio, handle ledgers, VAT returns and assist with management accounts while using Xero, Sage or QuickBooks and Excel.

The role offers training and development within a supportive team, with a salary of £28,200 to £38,200 depending on experience, plus benefits including a pension and free on-site parking.

Qualifications

• At least two years of bookkeeping experience in a UK accountancy practice.
• Confident in preparing and submitting VAT returns.
• Comfortable using cloud accounting software (Xero, Sage or QuickBooks) and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Run day-to-day bookkeeping for a diverse client portfolio.
• Process sales and purchase ledgers and post transactions accurately.
• Complete bank reconciliations and control accounts.
