Job description

We’re working on behalf of a highly regarded law firm to recruit an a PR and Communications Manager. This is a strategic role focused on driving external communications and media relations. This role will be a good match who has already gained some experience as Public Relations Manager, Media Relations Manager or External Communications Manager for a professional services organisation. This is a 12 months maternity cover contract.

What you’ll be doing

This Communications Manager role involves leading the planning and delivery of external communications activity. Key responsibilities include identifying PR opportunities, pitching stories to the press, and managing media relationships. Content creation will include press releases, media commentary, and thought-leadership pieces that enhance the firm’s reputation.
Ownership of communications around senior hires, financial results, and awards will be a part of this role too. Monitoring of press and social media channels will help uncover proactive and reactive opportunities. Weekly editorial planning meetings will be chaired, and regular media coverage reports produced. This role will also entail collaboration with the Senior Communications Manager and colleagues across digital marketing, business development, and branding is central to the role.
