Job description

We are looking for an experienced and confident PPA Teacher to join a warm, welcoming and supportive primary school in Smethwick.

This full-time role is set to begin in January and will run initially until February half-term, working five days per week. The position involves delivering high-quality teaching across the school and providing release time for class teachers in both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

The school is seeking a teacher with solid classroom experience—someone adaptable, well-organised, and able to build strong, positive relationships with pupils and staff. You will be expected to maintain high standards, contribute to the school’s positive ethos, and deliver engaging, purposeful lessons across a range of subjects, following pre-planned work.

Key Responsibilities for this PPA Teacher position:

• Deliver effective PPA cover lessons across the school.
• Provide high-quality teaching that supports progress, engagement, and positive behaviour.
• Ensure continuity of learning by following school planning and adapting teaching as needed.
• Work collaboratively with staff to maintain consistent expectations and a supportive learning environment.
• Manage classroom behaviour confidently and in line with school policies.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, promoting enthusiasm and a love of learning.
