Job summary

United Infrastructure Water Limited in Glasgow seeks a Project Manager to lead end-to-end Power Transmission & Distribution projects across Scotland, coordinating engineering, commercial and construction teams to deliver safely and on schedule.

You will drive performance, manage budgets and strengthen client relationships while supporting growth within a fast‑growing sector and leadership team. Permanent, full-time with site work across Scotland.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering complex infrastructure or utility projects.
• Strong knowledge of project management principles and delivery methodologies.
• Experience managing budgets, programmes and commercial performance.
• Excellent stakeholder and client management capabilities.
• Demonstrable leadership and team management experience.
• Strong communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Desirable: experience within Power Transmission, Distribution, Energy, Utilities or Civil Infrastructure sectors.
• Desirable: knowledge of NEC contracts and contractual management.
• Desirable: APM PMQ, PRINCE2 or equivalent project management qualification.
• Desirable: Degree or equivalent qualification in engineering/construction/PM.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end delivery of Power T&D projects from ECI, mobilisation through to completion.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and in line with client expectations.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including engineering, commercial, construction and supply chain partners.
• Develop and maintain project programmes, delivery strategies and resource plans.
• Manage project risks and opportunities to achieve successful outcomes.
• Take ownership of project financial performance including cost control, forecasting and profitability.
• Support contract administration and change management processes.
• Work closely with commercial teams to maximise project value and recover contractual entitlements.
• Contribute to accurate monthly project reporting and business performance reviews.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, key stakeholders and delivery partners.
• Act as the primary point of contact for allocated projects.
• Represent United Infrastructure professionally at client meetings, project reviews and industry engagements.
• Support business development opportunities and identify future growth potential.
• Champion a proactive health, safety and wellbeing culture across all projects.
• Ensure compliance with company procedures, client requirements and statutory obligations.
• Lead by example in delivering HSEQ excellence and continuous improvement.
• Promote behavioural safety and positive engagement across project teams.
• Provide leadership, coaching and support to project teams.
• Foster a high-performance culture focused on collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.
• Support talent development and succession planning within the wider business.
• Contribute actively as a member of the Scotland leadership team.
