Job summary

WSP is seeking an experienced Electrical Quality Surveillance Engineer with a strong background in power and distribution transformers to support major transmission, distribution, renewable energy, and power generation projects across the UK and internationally.

The role focuses on ensuring the quality, compliance and delivery of critical transformer assets through supplier quality assurance, manufacturing surveillance, factory inspections and FATs.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacture, inspection, testing or quality assurance of power transformers and HV equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality surveillance of transformer manufacturing activities at supplier facilities.
• Witness and report on FATs and key hold points.
• Review quality documentation and test records (ITPs, procedures).
• Conduct supplier QA audits and monitor compliance with IEC/IEEE standards.
• Identify and close non-conformances and quality issues.
• Provide QA support during transport, installation and commissioning.
• Produce inspection reports and communicate findings to clients.
