Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a specialized Power Systems Protection Engineer to join the critical infrastructure team in Randburg. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining protective relaying schemes to safeguard grid reliability.

You will analyze faults, develop protection philosophies, and oversee testing and commissioning of protection systems while staying current with evolving technologies and standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a Power Systems focus.
• At least 5 years in power system protection engineering.
• Knowledge of protective relaying principles, schemes and hardware.
• Experience with fault analysis and relay testing procedures.
• Proficient in protection analysis software (ETAP, Aspen OneLiner).
