Job summary

Advanced Resource Managers Ltd is seeking a Power System Network Model Engineer to develop and maintain Transmission EMS network models and support real-time operations.

The role focuses on topology, connectivity, and state estimation within EMS and related applications, with collaboration across TSOs, utilities, and control centres. Requires a strong background in electrical power systems and Python scripting.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical/Power Systems engineering.
  • 8+ years’ experience in EMS network modelling and related areas.
  • Experience with TSOs, ISOs, utilities or control centres.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and validate Transmission EMS Network Models.
  • Create device relationships across substations and transmission assets.
  • Build and maintain connectivity and topology models.
  • Validate models with data integrity checks.
  • Support modelling for new commissioning and asset updates.
  • Ensure consistency with EMS, SCADA and GIS systems.
  • Analyse model discrepancies and resolve issues.
  • Support State Estimator, Network Topology Processor and Power Flow.
  • Participate in model migrations and system upgrades.
  • Develop modelling standards and documentation.
