Job summary

Pertemps Bond in Birmingham is recruiting for a Power Press Operator to join a secure, permanent manufacturing team. You will operate power presses 20–250 tonnes, produce components to drawings, and carry out inspections throughout production.

This role offers structured training, clear pay progression from training to fully trained pay, and a weekly rotating shift pattern with early finish every Friday. You’ll be supported by experienced colleagues in a quality-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience in manufacturing or production.
• Experience operating power presses 20–250 tonnes.
• Experience inspecting components.
• Ability to use verniers, micrometers and gauges.
• Basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Operate power presses 20–250 tonnes.
• Manufacture components to drawings and specifications.
• Complete first-off and in-process inspections.
• Use verniers, micrometers, gauges and other measuring equipment.
• Ensure components meet standards before progressing.
• Monitor machine performance throughout production.
• Report machine faults and production issues promptly.
• Work with Supervisors, Coordinators and Engineers to maximise efficiency.
• Follow production schedules and achieve daily output targets.
• Complete production records and maintain traceability.
• Support colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Maintain a clean and organised workplace in line with 5S.
• Complete manual-handling duties when required.
• Follow all quality and Health & Safety procedures.
