Power Plant Operations Leader

Job summary

Recruitme is seeking an experienced operations leader for a role in Scotland's power/waste sector. You will manage large operational teams, oversee site performance, and ensure safe, compliant plant operation.

Candidates will have deep knowledge of boilers, turbines, generators, maintenance planning, and budget oversight. Experience with gasification and regulated environments is a plus.

Qualifications

• Extensive management experience in operations, ideally in power generation or energy-from-waste.
• Experience leading operational teams and taking responsibility for site performance.
• Strong knowledge of plant operations and maintenance, including boilers, turbines and generators.
• Experience managing health, safety, environmental and quality systems in a regulated environment.
• Knowledge of operating procedures, permit systems and maintenance management systems.
• Experience managing budgets, performance targets and improvement initiatives.
• Engineering qualification relevant to power or waste industry, or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with teams and stakeholders.
• Gasification experience would be advantageous; NEBOSH, IOSH, IEMA or BOAS, and HV authorised person experience would also be beneficial.
