What will be your role in the company?

CAF Rail UK maintains circa 500 Rolls Royce MTU power packs in operation across 5 projects in the UK. The performance of the power packs is vital to the fleet performance and requires constant review to monitor emerging technical issues, conduct root cause analysis and identify performance improvements. The Power Packs cycle through Overhaul at frequencies from 14,000 to 18,000 operational hours. These overhauls must be performed in a controlled manner to maximise train availability, to ensure quality standards are maintained and to conduct necessary repairs in the

The Overhauls are currently subcontracted to a third party however CAF is interested in developing options to conduct this operation in‑house. To support this process CAF Rail UK wishes to appoint a Systems Engineer dedicated to the Power Packs to support the projects, Supply Chain and Quality departments.

What will make you successful in this position?
  • HND or above in an Engineering related discipline
  • Relevant auditing qualification would be desirable
  • Relevant training qualification would be desirable
  • Experience in a maintenance engineering role.
  • PC literate with the ability to learn new software programmes quickly
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Proven experience in planning and organising
  • Experience writing audit, technical and maintenance report
