Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Ltd in the United Kingdom is seeking a Power Electronics Researcher to apply AI and machine learning to the design and optimisation of next‑generation power electronic systems. You will contribute to R&D projects across EV, rail and renewable energy.

The role suits a final-year PhD student, recent PhD graduate, Postdoctoral Researcher or Research Fellow with a strong power electronics background and experience using AI in research to drive practical engineering

Qualifications

PhD or degree in power electronics or related field.
Strong research background in power electronics and converter technologies.
Experience with AI, ML or data-driven modelling in research.
Experience with MATLAB, PLECS or Ansys.

Responsibilities

Research and develop AI/ML approaches for power electronics applications
Design, model and simulate power electronic converter systems
Investigate the use of AI and machine learning to optimise converter design and performance
Develop models, algorithms or tools to support the power electronics design process
Research emerging technologies and contribute to technical reports and research outputs
Support the transition of research concepts into practical engineering applications
