Job summary

Evera Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Power Electronics Engineer to join a growing automotive engineering team in Banbury. You will support the design and development of high‑performance traction inverters across the full product lifecycle, from concept and simulation through testing and vehicle integration.

Responsibilities include designing inverter hardware, schematics and KiCad PCB layouts; performing circuit simulations in LTspice; and validating with MATLAB/Simulink, while debugging hardware

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 2-4 years' experience developing electronic hardware in an engineering environment.
• Experience with KiCad, LTspice and MATLAB/Simulink.
• Knowledge of power electronics including MOSFETs/IGBTs and gate drivers.

Responsibilities

• Design high-performance inverter hardware for automotive applications.
• Develop electronic schematics and multilayer PCB layouts with KiCad.
• Design power and control electronics including sensing, protection and power supply circuits.
• Perform circuit simulations and model development to support design validation.
• Support PCB bring-up, debugging and root-cause investigations.
• Carry out laboratory testing and validation using a range of electronic test equipment.

Overview

Join a growing engineering team developing next-generation electric drive systems for advanced automotive applications. The Power Electronics Engineer will support the design and development of high-performance traction inverters, working across the full product lifecycle from concept and simulation through to testing and validation.

This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands‑on development work and wants exposure to the full engineering lifecycle, from design and simulation through to testing and vehicle integration.

Qualifications

• A BEng, MEng or equivalent qualification in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2-4 years' experience developing electronic hardware within an engineering environment.
• Experience designing schematics and PCB layouts using KiCad or similar ECAD software.
• Experience using LTspice or equivalent circuit simulation tools.
• Experience working with MATLAB/Simulink.
• Knowledge of power electronics, including MOSFETs, IGBTs and gate driver circuits.
• Strong problem‑solving skills and practical experience debugging electronic hardware.
