Job summary

VetPartners, Poultry Health Services in Leominster, Herefordshire, seeks an experienced Poultry Vet or a transferable Small Animal/Farm Vet. The role offers a stable, full-time position with on-site work and a commitment to professional development.

Qualifications

• RCVS registration required.
• Experience in poultry or transferable from small animal/farm is desirable.
• Willingness to work 08:30–17:00 with 1:3 weekend on-call after training.

Responsibilities

• Diagnostics via postmortems, farm visits and laboratory work.
• Routine visits for health and welfare plans and schemes (e.g., Lion Code, Red Tractor).
• Surveillance visits for disease outbreaks (e.g., Avian Influenza).
• Occasional export certification.
• Data analysis and epidemiology.
• Develop strong relationships with clients and apply innovative health/welfare approaches.

We have an exciting opportunity to join us at Poultry Health Services -one of the largest dedicated commercial poultry and game bird practices in the UK.

About us:

Poultry Health Services was founded in 2018, our main practice is in Sheriff Hutton, North Yorkshire with 6 other bases country wide plus two in house laboratories and a biosecurity company within the group.

Our core work is with commercial poultry farms supplying eggs and meat to supermarkets. We also work for poultry genetic companies and offer consultancy to a number of bodies including pharma companies and research institutions.

The Role:

This is a full-time, permanent position, for an RCVS registered vet, based at our Leominster practice in Herefordshire.

Working hours are 08.30 - 17.00 Monday to Friday with 1:3 weekends on call after training for which a day in lieu will be given

Salary – dependent on experience in other disciplines and qualifications

Ideally, we’re looking for an experienced poultry vet or a small animal/farm vet with post graduate experience as many of your skills are transferable to poultry, and specific poultry medicine training will be given.

A little about our team:

At our Leominster practice, which covers the whole of the Hereford area, and parts of Shropshire and Wales, our fabulous team comprises of2 experienced Vets, 1 Practice Manager, a Senior Administrator,technical advisor and a vet technician.We workcollaboratively and get together for monthly clinical clubs.
