Job summary

Royal Mail Group is recruiting a Delivery Postie with Driving in St Ives (TR) Delivery Office. This 9 months fixed term contract offers 24 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7 from 10:00 to 15:00, across Monday to Saturday. Sundays are currently not required.

You will deliver letters and parcels on your route, represent Royal Mail in the community and ensure reliable, friendly service in all weather. A full UK driving licence is required with up to 6 penalty points.

Qualifications

• Full UK manual driving licence with no more than 6 penalty points.
• Able to walk long distances and work outdoors in all weather.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable, organised and punctual with a friendly demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Deliver all items on your route securely and on time.
• Provide friendly customer service on your rounds.
• Follow Royal Mail standards for handling and delivery.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries and any issues.

Due to operational demand, you will not be required to work Sundays at present.

Please note: For candidate search purposes, roles offering between 35-37 hours per week are listed as full-time. However, any role under 37 hours per week will be classified as part-time in the employment contract.

As a Postie, you're expected to securely deliver all items on your route, including handling and delivering election materials and certain items (such as food products or alcohol) in line with Royal Mail business standards.
