Job summary

The Francis Crick Institute invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow to study how endoderm and mesoderm progenitors are specified in early zebrafish embryos via Nodal and FGF signalling interplay and cell cycle dynamics.

We seek a highly motivated researcher with a strong publication record and expertise in zebrafish embryology, live imaging, and data analysis. This fixed-term role offers collaboration across the Hill Lab and Crick teams.

Qualifications

PhD in a biological science is required/essential.
Proven zebrafish as a developmental system.
Technical expertise in zebrafish embryology, live imaging and image analysis.
Strong publication record or ongoing submissions in refereed journals.
Experience presenting data at scientific meetings.
Strong organisational and record-keeping skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Desirable: experience in signal transduction and cell cycle research.

Responsibilities

Lead a postdoctoral project focusing on endoderm and mesoderm progenitor specification in zebrafish.
Investigate Erk inactivity windows and mitotic erasure in lineage decisions.
Collaborate with lab and external partners; mentor PhD students.
Publish findings and contribute to grant proposals.
