Job summary

University of Oxford seeks 3 Postdoctoral Research Assistants in Experimental Hypersonics to undertake experiments in hypersonic facilities and international facilities. You will plan test campaigns, analyse data, and disseminate results in seminars, journals, and conferences, while guiding junior researchers and contributing to wind tunnel development.

You should have a PhD or near completion with strong hands-on experience in high-speed wind tunnels, optical diagnostics, and advanced data

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant discipline or near completion with thesis submitted.
• Experience operating high-speed wind tunnels, impulse facilities or related experimental facilities.
• Strong experimental data analysis and interpretation skills.
• Experience in development and application of optical diagnostic techniques for fluid flow measurement.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and contribute to publications.

Responsibilities

• Plan and run test campaigns in hypersonic facilities.
• Analyse data to advance understanding of material-flow interaction.
• Disseminate results in seminars, journals and conferences.
• Provide guidance to junior researchers, assistants and students.
• Contribute to development of wind tunnel infrastructure and other experimental capabilities.
