Job summary

MRC invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to lead methods development in spatial lineage tracing and single-cell multiomics at its London site. The successful candidate will combine bench experiments with computational analyses on large sequencing datasets to uncover clonal dynamics in human tissues.

The role is a fixed-term, full-time appointment with London-based work and a competitive salary supplemented by allowances and development funding.

Qualifications

• PhD in genomics, molecular biology, computational biology, or related field.
• Experience with high-throughput sequencing data and analysis.
• Willingness to generate data at the bench and perform computational work.

Responsibilities

• Plan and drive research to meet project aims and innovate methods.
• Develop, optimize, and benchmark new wet-lab and computational approaches.
• Generate and analyze large single-cell and spatial sequencing datasets.
• Maintain detailed records and ensure reproducible workflows.
• Contribute to publications and grant submissions, present at meetings.
• Collaborate with team members and external partners; mentor students.
