Job summary

University of Exeter invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate/Fellow to join a EPSRC-funded mid-infrared sensing project. You will lead the development of metamaterial emitters and resonant cavities, connecting modelling, nanofabrication and sensing experiments within CMRI.

You will operate in the Savchenko Centre for Nanoscience and collaborate with The Met Office and South West Water, aiming to advance environmental sensing in air and water.

Qualifications

• PhD (or nearing completion) in physics, photonics, engineering or related field.
• Strong research methods and ability to present progress and proposals.
• Experience in metamaterials, infrared sensing, and nanofabrication is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and testing of metamaterial emitters and resonant cavities.
• Integrate modelling, nanofabrication and sensing experiments.
• Develop objectives, projects and proposals; present at conferences.
