Job summary

A position exists for a Post Doctoral Research Associate in the Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics at the University of Cambridge to work on cosmological solutions and their dynamical properties under the initial value formulation of general relativity.

Duties include developing and conducting independent and collaborative research aims, planning and managing research activity, and assisting in proposals to external funding bodies.

Qualifications

• PhD in Mathematics or equivalent by start date.
• Experience with the Cauchy problem in general relativity and cosmological big bang singularities is desirable.
• Ability to communicate technical material and supervise students.

Responsibilities

• Develop and conduct independent and collaborative research on cosmological solutions.
• Plan and manage research activities and contribute to proposals to external bodies.
• Supervise student projects and deliver seminars as required.
