Job summary

Imperial College London is seeking a Postdoctoral researcher to work on long-wavelength oxygenic photosynthesis and chlorophyll-f variants. You will apply biochemistry, biophysics, spectroscopy, and cryo-EM to unravel structure–function relationships in photosystems and related bioenergetic complexes.

Ideal candidates have hands-on experience with photosystems, membrane protein isolation, and cyanobacterial biology, and will collaborate across groups in the UK and abroad.

Qualifications

• Practical experience of biophysical methods on photosystems or bioenergetic complexes.
• Experience isolating and characterising membrane protein bioenergetic complexes.
• Experience in cyanobacteria microbiology and molecular biology.

Responsibilities

• Apply interdisciplinary methods to answer research questions in photosynthesis.
• Collaborate across theory, computation, and spectroscopy groups.
• Contribute to energy policy insights through energy accounting work.
