Job summary

University of Exeter invites applications for a full-time Postdoctoral Research Associate to contribute to an EPSRC-funded project led by Professor Mohamed Saidi. You will work on anabelian geometry of hyperbolic curves over fields of positive characteristic, developing new results in arithmetic fundamental groups.

The role requires developing research programmes, collaborating with a team, and contributing to grant bids and dissemination at conferences and seminars.

Qualifications

• PhD or nearing completion in number theory/arithmetic algebraic geometry.
• Recognised research contribution in arithmetic fundamental groups and anabelian geometry.
• Ability to supervise others and lead research projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop research objectives and proposals.
• Identify sources of research funding and assist in securing funds.
• Collaborate with Prof. Saidi to establish new results and present at conferences.
