Royal Mail is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Andover. The role involves delivering letters and parcels, sorting at the delivery office, and working in all weather. Location: Andover Delivery Office, SP10 1AA

Job type: Fixed Term contract (6 months)

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 37:00 hours per week – working (5) days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 07:15 until 16:30 or 11:00 until 20:00*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work occasional Sundays, during busy periods.

What To Expect

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
